A Picture Paints a Thousand Words

From the time I was a small child, I can remember both my Mom and Grammy quoting that saying on numerous occasions. I find myself often quoting it as an adult. As I researched its origin, I found several would like to stake claim to it, from Confucius to a 1911 newspaper article quoting editor, Arthur Brisbane. Whatever the origin, it is certainly true!

Look at this picture that I recently came across. I love it and I can’t keep from thinking about it, because right now Donnie and I are in this hallway of life. I know this picture contains words, but only a FEW, and those few words capture the picture and your attention.

My Friday Floyd Forecast is to let this “picture and its few words” capture your attention and redirect your focus from “where” you are at this time in your life, to the “why” God (in all His Sovereignty), has you here in the hallway… and in the midst of it all, I pray you will make a conscious choice to praise Him. “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Psalm 150:6

Psalm 42:11
Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.

Eccl 5:2-3
Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God.
God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.
As a dream comes when there are many cares, so the speech of a fool when there are many words.
