- Hannah Thomas Hospital Pharmacy
The old pharmacy on Barbuda was a patchwork of makeshift shelves—functional, but far from ideal. The pharmacists did their very best with what they had, serving their community with dedication despite the disarray.
Then God opened a door.
BFM acquired like-new pharmacy shelving from a closed Walgreens, and what followed was nothing short of a transformation. What was once cluttered and cramped is now organized, efficient, and beautiful—a space the pharmacists are proud to work in, and one that brings dignity to the care they provide. Excellence should never be out of reach—
- Location: Hannah Thomas Hospital, Codrington Village, Barbuda
- Project Type: Community Health & Welfare Project
- Cost: $2,300
- Start Date: March 27, 2023
- Completion Date: April 6, 2023
- Project Status: Completed
Why Was This Project Selected?
There is only one Pharmacy on Barbuda and it was set up with a hodge-podge of shelving. From old wood painted A-Frame shelves that took up way too much floorspace, to industrial metal shelving that should be used in a storage room or garage. Our pharmacy needs an Extreme Makeover!
Project Challenges
The greatest challenge was clearing the Pharmacy shelves out in an extremely organized fashion and thoroughly sanitizing the entire room. Then, putting up ALL the new perfectly uniformed wall and island shelving, and putting all the medicine back on the shelves, in an organized fashion, ALL IN ONE DAY!
