Why Was This Project Selected?

To say the HTH (Hannah Thomas Hospital) is a big project is an understatement! Though the main section (only) of the hospital has been restored after Hurricane Irma, it is barely functioning with its current equipment.

This endeavor is a worthy project that has great merit. It is a tremendous need that Barbudans have asked for, prayed for, fought for and many have died waiting for. With the help of Project C.U.R.E. BFM (Bonnie Floyd Ministries) will be God’s answer to their prayers.

PC (Project C.U.R.E.) will fill a 40’ container full of ALL the donated medical equipment and supplies needed to make the HTH fully operational. This container will fulfill a dream that ALL Barbudans have held in their hearts forever, to have the HTH become a fully functioning hospital for the first time in history.

The needs for the HTH include a labor & delivery room, two nurses stations, additional storage room shelving, completing the new pediatric ward, all electrical work, hospital pharmacy, x-ray room, Dr. Jeremey’s office, patient waiting rooms, and air conditioning units for designated rooms.

Project Challenges

Preparing the hospital in time to receive the Project C.U.R.E. container is our #1 challenge, because there is so much to do!! There are many challenges with this AMAZING ENDEAVOR. Electrical to run all the new equipment and proper lighting. Remodeling wards. Clearing out rooms to create properly shelved storage rooms for all the patient consumable supplies coming in the PC container.

What is the potential impact for the local community?

Making the Hannah Thomas Hospital fully-functioning for the first time in Barbuda’s history, will benefit every person’s life on Barbuda, from the unborn child to the oldest living resident on the island.
