Barbuda Dental Clinic

There is a tremendous need for dentistry on Barbuda. Childrens teeth are cavity ridden that is seen in their smiles. A large percentage of the adult population are missing several teeth because basic dental care is non-existent. Cavities go untreated and when teeth become painful for any reason, the only option they have is to pull them.

Barbuda Optical Clinic

Optometry on Barbuda is non-existent. There is NO visiting optometrist who comes to Barbuda. Most Barbudans don’t even realize how bad their eyesight is or has become. A simple pair of non-prescription reading glasses surprises them.

Claudette’s House

Claudette Beazer has been a friend to BFM for nearly 7 years. When we first started our ministry on Barbuda, Claudette heard about us and sought us out. We were looking to pursue new friendships and Claudette pursued us! When BFM started bringing mission teams to Barbuda, the need to find someone to cook meals for us arose, and Claudette was among the first to step up. Over the years Claudette has continued to feed our teams, cooking simply delicious meals made with her special ingredient, LOVE.

The Louise Biddle Memorial Blood Lab

Bonnie was asked by a Doctor in Denver, CO who came to know of her story and ministry on Barbuda, “What is the number one medical need on Barbuda?” Bonnie couldn’t answer that question, but knew who could and that was Dr. Jeremy Deazle. Dr. Deazle said, “If I had one wish for Barbuda, it would be a blood lab; a blood lab alone will save lives”.

Barbuda Village Library

When Pastor Brian McCall, lead pastor of MGBC in Martinsburg, PA came to Barbuda for the first time in February 2020, he discovered there was no public Library. Since that mission trip Pastor Brian has had it in his heart to bring the world of books to all the people of Barbuda.

Hannah Thomas Hospital

HTH (Hannah Thomas Hospital) is a big project is an understatement! Though the main section (only) of the hospital has been restored after Hurricane Irma, it is barely functioning with its current equipment.

Neshita’s House

Neshita Beazer is a brave young mother with a heart full of hope. After Hurricane Irma swept away her home, she returned to Barbuda with nothing but determination. Piece by piece—salvaged tile, a single window, scraps of roofing—she built a tiny shelter for her and her children. When we met Neshita, her spirit inspired us deeply.

Through the love and generosity of BFM mission teams, we built her a cozy front porch, a sturdy bunk bed for her children, and provided furnishings to turn her little house into a very home.

Eldeana R. Martin Adventure Playground

The Kids Around The World (KATW) organization contacted BFM because they had been contacted by an organization (One Desk Foundation) that wanted to fund a playground build. Because of the success BFM had building the LGAP (Layla Grace Adventure Playground) on Barbuda, KATW remembered that Barbuda had a sister island, Antigua. When they asked Bonnie if Antigua needed or would benefit from a playground, her answer was a resounding “YES!”

Hannah Thomas Hospital Pharmacy

There is only one Pharmacy on Barbuda and it was set up with a hodge-podge of shelving. From old wood painted A-Frame shelves that took up way too much floorspace, to industrial metal shelving that should be used in a storage room or garage. Our pharmacy needs an Extreme Makeover!

Kimo’s House & Baby Nursery!

A Homecoming to Remember

Kimo is more than a friend to BFM—he’s family. One of the hardest-working men on Barbuda, this young father built his own home with grit and determination. When his wife left the island to have their baby, he stayed behind, preparing for their return.

What he didn’t know was that God was preparing something even greater.

Hannah Thomas Hospital Pediatric Ward

Hope Has a Room Now.

Never before have the children of Barbuda had a place of their own in the hospital—when illness struck, they were placed in the women’s ward. There was no pediatric care wing, no space that felt safe or comforting just for them.

Donaldson’s House

He Said Help Others First… But Now It’s His Turn.

Donaldson is my forgiven brother—his humility and our story have touched countless hearts. After Hurricane Irma destroyed his home, he never asked for anything, always urging us to help others first. But after four years, we knew it was time. Thanks to BFM mission teams and generous donors, we completed the unfinished home the UN had started—giving him not just a house, but a true home, where love and forgiveness now dwell.

Layla Grace Adventure Playground

In June 2021, the Brandenburg Family came on a family mission trip. One day after playing with her new friends, Layla, who is 8 years old, told us she’d discovered that there was no playground anywhere on the island, and to Layla Grace that was “simply unacceptable!” With that, she proceeded to lay out her case before us. “We’ve raised money to help Miss Sylvia and other big people with their houses, and fences but what about my friends? What about the little people, all the kids on Barbuda that have NO playground?”

Sylvia Walker’s Home

Sylvia had been living in shredded tents for almost 5 years after Hurricane Irma destroyed her home in 2017. In that time she has gone through three tents because they do not hold up against the extreme elements on Barbuda.
